What we do

We engage in cutting-edge research in behavioral social science to advance our understanding and construct empirically validated models of human behavior. In collaboration with private and public entities in the UAE and globally, we use these models to design and implement public policies and institutions that improve societal well-being.

The C-BID mission is to advance understanding of human behavior and lead in the application of scientific insights to policy.

Behavioral research

Understanding the diversity of human experience and attitudes is critical for designing institutions and policies that enhance societal well-being. While identifying the impacts of individual forces on behavior is complex, it also creates opportunities to develop more effective solutions

Institutional design research

A new interdisciplinary field using mathematical models to study how rules, institutions, and information shape behavior. We explore markets. networks, and decision-making, considering human diversity and cognitive limitations.

Policy and partnerships

We engage with key stakeholders outside academia to maximize our impact, translating research findings into practical solutions that enhance welfare and raising awareness about the significance of behavioral economics.

Education

We promote a variety of educational initiatives, including undergraduate and graduate courses, research fellowships, assistantships, mentorship programs, and student placements to cultivate future leaders in the field.
